SMEs and Cloud do they mix?

SMEs and Cloud do they mix?

Impossible to think to change the infrastructure of its business or its renewal without encountering cloud offers dozens. For five years, cloud offerings have evolved considerably. Initially essentially of hosting, cloud offerings have structured and are now able to accommodate a growing number of internal infrastructure to the business. And it's not over! It is now the turn of the business activities of the company to be good candidates for the cloud. But the question remains: French SMEs and Cloud can they mix or concerns they are too far from each of the requirements of the second?

Still to this day, cloud suffers from an image deficit as too complex and above. It also PATIE have been presented only as a way to reduce IT costs. But it is never good to have a solution as a panacea, and thereby mask the complexities that underlie it. In fact, the cloud can reduce some of the costs, but above all to spread further. Ultimately, the elimination of certain expenses will go hand in hand with a fundamental restructuring of the company's services will benefit. As Jean-Marc Default, Group Director of Cloud Computing Hewlett-Packard for France, reduce the Cloud to simple savings, and worse, keep only this aspect to rest its business strategy would a serious mistake.

Advance by users on their CIOs
The good news for CIOs is that it becomes the master of natural work of change and evolution to the cloud. The bad, as highlighted in a recent study of VMware, is that users - company employees - did not wait and have already begun the movement to seize cloud services.

The debate that pitted CIOs and users that is only 18 months has taken a new form. According to the study, 75% of French DSI believe that such purchases are ultimately beneficial account for the business and promote growth and innovation. 56% even admit to not have equivalent offer within the company. This study also states that 39% of employees surveyed in 3000 have already purchased, used or downloaded cloud services without advice from their CIOs. Collaborative services, file sharing or instant messaging and cloud rank among the unmet needs by French companies. The constant in all cases is that the Cloud is already used today, promises to be even more tomorrow.
